SHUTTLE SERVICE REINFORCEMENT
OFFICE OF THE INFORMATION OFFICER
STUDENTS' UNION GOVERNMENT
UNIVERSITY OF NIGERIA, NSUKKA
The Students Union Government's (SUG) transportation dream of one passenger at the front and three at the back at the rate of N50 has finally been achieved.
It is no longer news that for the past few weeks now, the Students Union Government has been battling with the shuttle drivers Union concerning the actual amount and the number of passengers which shuttle drivers are allowed to convey per trip. While the shuttle drivers are on the side of carrying two passengers at the front and four at the back at the rate of N70, the SUG stood on carrying one passenger at the front and three at the back.
Well, the good news is that the issue has been resolved on the 25th of May,2017 after a brief meeting between the Students Union Government, the university transRoute and the shuttle Union, which held by 12pm that day. After long aargument, an agreement was reached between the Union and the shuttle drivers that the shuttle will commence work the following day on the agreement that they are allowed to carry one passenger at the front and three at the back at the normal rate of N50.
To this achievement, the Students Union Government (SUG) wish to thank the university students for their cooperation and also encourage them to drop criticism and support the Union on the struggle to ensure that students are not being exploited and deprived of their right.
Finally the student union leader crave students' indulgence for more support and constructive criticism whenever the need be.
